Quotes and Cookies: The Hardest Way

Before we get to the quotes or the cookies, I have to share something. I don't normally do links to contests, but I HAD to on this one. My friend K. Marie Criddle is moving to Japan. JAPAN, people! As a parting gift, she's giving away some really great stuff. But lemme tell you: the way to really win big is by following her blog! I read her blog for a year or two before we became friends, and I can tell you that not only is she one of the most awesome people in the entire writing world, but her blog seriously rocks beyond the telling of it. If I had to choose only one writing blog to read, it'd be hers. Yeah, it's that good. She is hilarious and she HAND DRAWS HER POSTS.

I'm serious about checking it out. Just click on this link. It'll open it in a new tab, so you can click on it now, and still finish reading this post. C'MERE: K. Marie Criddle's blog You'll thank me.

Now, on to the quotes and cookies!

I thought I'd end bravery week, such as it was, with a quote to validate all the bravery writers have to exhibit.

“Writing is the hardest way of earning a living, with the possible exception of wrestling alligators.”

~Olin Miller

So go forth! Be brave! Write! Eat a cookie! And do it with the knowledge that what you are doing is impressively hard.

Thus endeth bravery week.

Happy Friday, everyone!

So I made cookies last night - chocolate chip, no less - and am sitting having an internal battle: to have a cookie for breakfast, or not to have a cookie for breakfast?

And, lo! There you go posting photos of, none other than, THE chocolate chip cookie!

ARG!

Off to eat a cookie now...:)

Those cookies make me want to go make some now so I can have them for breakfast too!

I like that quote a lot!

I'm already a follower of Marie - I love her blog too!

Aw, Peggy! I love you MORE than cookies. Thank you so much for the shout out! You are the chocolate chips of the blogging writer's world. :D

I went. I saw. I fell over in awe at her illustrations and laughed too much at her humor. Thank you for the directions to a truly awesome blog. Im so jealous she can draw like that. Her pictures say sooo much more than lame words ever could. No fair. I want to be an artist now. Combined with a writer. I'm going to sulk now...*big sigh* Or eat some cookies. That always helps with blog envy!

Barbara-- Your comment has made me laugh all day! Maybe I shouldn't post pictures of cookies until after breakfast? (And for the record, if you make pumpkin or oatmeal cookies, there's much less guilt about eating them for breakfast. :))

Kristine, Stacy, and RJR-- I know, right? I think it's the salt that makes them look so darn tasty. SALT ON COOKIES!! Who would've thought?

Marie-- I always wanted to be the goodness left on your fingers when you're done with the cookie. :) Thanks for having a blog that makes the world a happier place.

Carrie-- Aw! Awesome! You're welcome. :)

Lani-- I know! I have blog envy EVERY SINGLE TIME she posts. Tell you what-- instead of sulking, let's share a virtual cookie every time we read her blog. Like you said-- it totally helps with the blog envy.

I love the title of her blog too. I clicked on jer link a few weeks ago just because of the title.

Heading over to check out her blog now. And to look for some cookies. :)

Dropping by to say hello! =)

There's also something awaiting you at my blog.

Nice meeting you!

Thanks for pointing the way to K.Marie's blog. What an awesome illustrator!

And yes, wise words - go forth and eat cookies. Oh wait - was there something else? Ah. Write. Of course! *munches cookies*

Oh my heart... how do people make their cookies look like that?! I have NEVER, in all my cookie making experimentation, been able to make a chocolate cookie look that delectable. I would be convinced it was a photoshop wonder, if i hadn't actually eaten cookies like that in bakeries... hmmmm... a bakery conspiracy, perhaps?

P.s. New follower alert! (Just because I want to drool over more cookie pics! Haha!)

1. Bravery week COMPLETELY RULED.
2. I have lots of pictures of cookies. If I send them to you, will you use one on the blog? Because that would make me feel a little famous, and I sure could use that right now.

:)

I'm checking out the other blog but did you know that chocolate chip cookies are my favorite things on earth?

Bravery week was awesome, Peggy. And wow those cookies look good. :D

P.S. I've given you an award on my blog.

Hey! I have something for you over on my blog. ;-)

Theresa-- Haha! It really does feel like that some days, doesn't it?

Jessie-- I saw you were a follower a few weeks ago, and it made me smile.

Kimberly-- Awesome! And good luck! :)

Leah-- Hi! And thank you SO much! It's nice meeting you, too.

Jayne-- I know, right? And sometimes I forget that the writing is supposed to go with the cookies, too. :)

Julie-- Welcome! And I know about the cookies! It makes me want to get a job at a bakery just so I can be let in on the delectable cookie conspiracy.

Leigh Ann-- 1. Thank you!! 2. Of course! I would love that! I couldn't find an email address for you. Just go ahead and send them to me at peggyeddleman @ gmail . com

Libby-- I just sensed a strong need for chocolate chip cookies. :) Guess it was coming from your direction, huh?

CherylAnne-- Thank you, thank you!!!

TaraNator-- You have the best name EVER. And thanks so much!

That cookie photo is making my mouth water! Good to meet you - Carrie Butler bestowed us both with the Liebster award and so I'm following you - well she must have great taste in blogs! Am off to follow your friend moving to Japan as I worked there for many years. Think I need to check out that "When Insanity Works" post - though do turn out a few lights and help save the planet :-)

John Teal said...

Thank you for being a wonderful Follower of my blog, please click here and collect an award for your time and effort

Peggy Eddleman said...

Cheryl-- Nice to meet you, fellow award recipient! Enjoy Marie's blog! And don't worry about the lights. I have a son who thinks he can single-handedly save the world by constantly shutting off every single light in the house. Several times a day I have to say, "Argh! Stop shutting the lights off on me! I only left the room for two seconds!"

RJR-- Awww! Thank you! I love that.

No wonder I'm always hungry when I catch up on blogs! Can I blame my weight on you - I mean, after all, who wants to take responsibility for their own actions? Not me.

Peggy Eddleman said...

Jenifer- You can TOTALLY blame it on me. I don't mind at all!
